Congratulations to Bevan Buckland LLP on winning Financial and Professional Service Business of the year at the inaugural Vale of Glamorgan Business Awards. Here’s what they had to say:
Why did you enter the VOG Business Awards?
We opened our Cowbridge office in October 2021, after a year of growing the brand and client base in Cowbridge and the rest of the Vale Of Glamorgan we wanted to enter the awards to try and obtain recognition for our efforts over the past year, solidifying us as the top Financial Services Practice in the Vale of Glamorgan.
What did winning mean for you or your business?
It means a great deal – it is validation that we made the correct decision in choosing Cowbridge and the Vale of Glamorgan for our new office, and it has been a massive boost for us a firm and the growing team that work in Cowbridge office.
What did you think of the awards ceremony?
The ceremony was fantastic! We have been to several events hosted by Grapevine any they never cease to disappoint – they are always well organised and great fun!
What’s been a challenge for you or your business during the last year and how did you overcome it?
As Bevan Buckland is known as a Swansea and West Wales firm, we initially struggled to build our presence locally and to break into the local market. This is why winning means so much to us, as it has helped show the local community that we are here for the long-term, and we are here to support them.
What’s been a highlight for you or your business over the last year and why?
When we opened the office in 2021, there were just two of us. Now we are up to 7 members of staff, with 2 more joining us in the New Year. We want to establish our reputation as great employers within the Vale, and our recruitment and staff retention is a strong hallmark of this.
What are your goals for 2023?
Our goal for 2023 is to keep building our presence within Cowbridge and the Vale – we are continuing to build the Bevan Buckland brand locally, and we are recruiting successfully, keeping skilled jobs within the Vale.
Whats the best thing about running a business in the Vale?
The people – the Vale of Glamorgan is one big community and we’re thrilled to be able to call ourselves part of that community. Andrew who runs the office with Jack grew up in the Vale and attended Cowbridge School so now has a great sense of pride growing the business in the Cowbridge community.
