Why did you enter The Vale of Glamorgan Business Awards?
To raise the profile of TMPR in the area and celebrate the hard work and success of our team. Our industry niches mean it’s a rare opportunity for such public recognition – we felt the awards would do that for us, and show our team how valued and brilliant they are.
How did you find the interview process for the awards?
Extremely well organised for a start! I’ve made no secret of the fact I felt the interviews were rigorous – I couldn’t decide if it was more Dragon’s Den or the Apprentice! Joking aside, they were very well run and I was grateful for the chance to bring our nomination to life by talking about the business in person – and to answer the tough questions!
What did winning mean for you or your business?
Absolute pride. So proud of the recognition it has given our team.
How did you find the awards ceremony?
Again, very well organised! Also loved that it was a black tie gala dinner. It’s not often you get to glam up these days and being able to come together as a team, with some of our strategic partners, was really special.
What’s been a highlight for you or your business over the last year and why?
Winning the award for a start! We’ve also achieved our goal of establishing a core team and are now working on our culture and values. It’s a highlight because these will be the foundations for our future success.
What are the business goals for 2024?
To maintain on our current trajectory, consolidate the team and invest in their growth.
What’s the best thing about running a business in The Vale of Glamorgan?
The people. Since we first moved here it’s been clear that everyone wants everyone else to succeed. Many of our business partners and suppliers are based in the Vale, and we all just want the very best for each other. This collaborative and supportive approach to business is unique in my experience.
