Congratulations to Penarth View on winning Entrepreneur of the Year at the inaugural Vale of Glamorgan Business Awards. Here’s what they had to say:
Why did you enter the VOG Business Awards?
It felt the right thing to do to showcase everything that myself and the team had been doing. Inventive new ways of working, launching new products and businesses, and shining a light on Penarth’s great business community.
What did winning mean for you or your business?
It was a fantastic accolade to win Entrepreneur of the Year at this year’s awards — the award is now proudly on a shelf in the office. It has already helped solidify my credentials in running and operating businesses, and as a result will generate more sales in the future.
What did you think of the awards ceremony?
The awards ceremony was a great celebration of businesses around the Vale. We hade a table of Penarth businesses, so we were representing our town!
What’s been a challenge for you or your business during the last year and how did you overcome it?
Launching my latest initiative, Milkshed, in August 2022 has been the biggest challenge of the year. Through sheer hard work and determination, we did it, with the support of Vale of Glamorgan’s Start-up Bursary.
What’s been a highlight for you or your business over the last year and why?
Once again, opening Milkshed has been the highlight of the year. Our new studio and co-working space is now fully open.
What are your goals for 2023?
The whole world is in turmoil, so 2023 will be about steadying everything once again. Given that all three businesses I run are B2B, with all businesses feeling the pinch, maintaining our trajectory on View Publishing, Milkshed, and Candid Creative Studio will be the plan.
Whats the best thing about running a business in the Vale?
I live and work in Penarth: I know the quality of businesses here and this awards show is so important. It honours the finalists and winners and by recognising them, it helps to promote the Vale of Glamorgan as a place for businesses to thrive. It’s really nice to see some of the hard-working Penarth business people get the recognition they deserve! The Vale of Glamorgan is a great place to do business.
